Empower University
Empower University (Empower U) is a collegiate success institute that prepares 8th-12th grade college bound students by helping them develop educational goals, identify institutions that best fit their talents and aspirations, compile a complete college application and equip them with knowledge and tools needed to successfully transition to college. This institute provides targeted assistance on an individual level. Through interactive exercises, participants make discoveries and decisions about their academic future by assessing their strengths, determine and set concrete goals and create an action plan for achieving their dreams. Participants also develop different elements of their college admissions folder, research resources that aid in applying for and receiving financial aid, engage in discussions on what to expect when they attend college and explore great ways to flourish and take full advantage of the college experience.
COUNTDOWN TO COLLEGE
Countdown to College is our virtual eMpower University program designed for rising high school juniors and seniors. While we physically serve Southeast Nashville, this virtual program allows us to reach students across Tennessee. The Fall Cohort launches October 1, 2020 and will include weekly Zoom sessions where our college counselors guide you through the college application process, help you explore scholarships and other financial aid opportunities as well as develop skills to successfully transition to college.
